Abstract
This study was conducted in order to explore the immunologic aspects of allergic dermatitis and the immunologic changes affected by the immunosuppressive drugs.
For these purposes, the author induced the dermatitis in rabbits by the repeated injections of pooled human serum with Freund¢¥s complete adjuvant into the skin, and administered prednisolone and azathioprine as immunosuppressive drugs to the immunized rabbits.
Immunologic assay was performed by the measurement of total leukocytes, lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, plasma cells, and B lymphocytes bearing each of IgG, IgA and IgM.
The results were as follows:
1. Percentage of T lymphocytes measured by rosette test in healthy rabbits were 21.2%.
2. By the injections of pooled human serum with adjuvant total leukocytes, lymphocytes, T
lymphocytes, plasma cells, and B lymphocytes bearing each of IgG, IgA and IgM were increased.
3. Prednisolone decreased lymphocytes, T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes bearing each of IgG,
IgA and IgM, while azathioprine decreased only B lymphocytes bearing each of IgA and IgM.
